SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -- Although the number of companies making big layoffs has slowed down over the past few months and for many, it's still difficult to find new work in this poor economy.
But the Qwest Call Center in Sioux City is in hiring mode. Today was the first of a two day job fair.
Qwest officials say they're looking for people to fill about 100 positions, at $10.50 an hour. Pay jumps to $12.50 after a year.
"We're looking for candidates that have very strong customer service backgrounds, who enjoy solving problems for customers, and asking customers about their needs relative to telecommunications and entertainment services," said Qwest site director Greg Duncan.
If you missed today's job fair, Qwest will be open again from 10-4 Friday. That's at 5800 Discovery Boulevard in Sioux City.
