North High School students get motivated to take skills test
Sioux City, IOWA (KTIV) - An assembly to motivate students for the annual Iowa Tests of Educational Development was held Monday at North High School.
The North High Drum line performed for students and teachers performed skits all in hopes to encourage students to try their best on the tests.
9th through 11th graders will take the test starting Tuesday.
Students are tested in Language Arts, Math and Science.
"We spend analyzing these tests, the results so we can see where our student learning needs are and if they aren't trying, then all the analysis we do is really for not," said Linda Smoley, North High School Principal.
Another motivator that North High School is using, counting the test as a chapter grade in the corresponding course.
