SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KTIV) - A local business will close by the end of the month due to the economy.
The School Supply Corner in South Sioux City, Nebraska is going out of business after serving the community for five years.
The owner, Margo Pantoja said she has been supplying thousands of area teachers different educational tools to help enhance their classrooms.
But now, with the economy, she said she has made the tough decision to close her business.
"One of the things that I don't think many people are aware of is, teachers used to get an allocated amount of money that they could take off of their taxes each year, which in the past it was $200 and they no longer get that and I think teachers, like anyone else money is tight. People are taking cuts and making choices and different decisions," said Margo Pantoja, School Supply Corner Owner.
