SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -- The Sioux City school administration staff has been busy this week packing for a big move.
Friday was the last day at their current location at 12th and Pierce, which has been home to the Educational Service Center for more than 75 years. On Monday the offices will relocate to 627 Fourth Street.
Superintendent Dr. Paul Gausman says they bought that building and renovated it to meet their needs, for only $30 per square foot.
"We really look forward to moving into this facility to better serve the entire community by creating efficiencies and keeping costs down. It's interesting because this move will actually save the district two and a half million dollars over the next ten years," Gausman said.
He says the new building will also serve nearly 120 students a day with two programs. They include the English as a Second Language course and a Health Occupation Program.
