SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -- With several inches of snow expected over the next couple of days and travel not advised Siouxland, people are rushing to get all the provisions they'll need to ride out the storm.
It was a real frenzy of people out Wednesday night at the Floyd Blvd. Walmart, trying to get ready for the massive storm.
The parking lots of many retail outlets in town were full as people made a mad dash to fill their cars with gas and get some extra for their snow blowers.
The grocery stores were also busy with people trying to stock up with some extra groceries for the next few days, especially as many of them may be cooking and spending the Christmas holiday at home.
If you are going to be traveling, pack your winter survival kit. Included in that should be a shovel, heavy blanket, bottled water, some snacks like peanuts or trail mix, a working flash light with extra batteries and some hand warmers.
If you are out on the roads, drive defensively and call ahead to your destination.
