Rodeo riding into town this weekend

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -- The guys responsible for bringing you the Cherokee Rodeo every year are taking their show to Sioux City. The Barnes National Bull Riding Challenge is Friday and Saturday night at the Tyson Events Center.

If you think football is a full contact sport, you have no idea. Plenty of "tough as nails" cowboys will try their luck on the bucking bulls this weekend.

"What it comes down to is just grit. The cowboy tries to stay in the middle of the bull, right above his shoulders and that's the pivot point on the bull when he's bucking, jumping, turning and twisting. SO you're trying to stay right there, that's where there's the least amount of movement," says organizer Marty Barnes.

Tickets are still available at the Tyson Events Center box office for the event, which is set for 7:30 on Friday and Saturday nights.
