$8-million in I-JOBS funds will help build Sioux City water plant

DES MOINES, Iowa (KTIV) - Sioux City has another $8-million to work on the city's new water treatment plant.

It'll be built in the new Southbridge Industrial Park area.

The money, which comes from the I-JOBS program, will help build a new line from a well field to the water plant... a new collector well... and the water plant, itself.

Water plant superintendent Rick Mach says the money will help the city do work to meet requirements of the Department of Natural Resources, and the Environmental Protection Agency.

Without the money, Mach said the city would have likely borrowed the money... and paid it back, with interest.
