IHOP gives a free short stack for a good cause

Sioux City, IOWA (KTIV) - It's National Pancake Day!

To help raise awareness and funds for the St. Luke's Regional Medical Center Children's Miracle Network, I-HOP is offering each guest a free short stack.

Guests are invited to make a donation to the Children's Miracle Network after enjoying their pancakes.

"We raise funds so that we can give the money back to St. Luke's Regional Medical Center to enhance healthcare there for children. So if it's purchasing new equipment or doing community programing, education for staff. All in hopes to make healthcare better for kids," said Megan Meyer, Children's Miracle Network Coordinator.

People can get a free short stack until 10 p.m. Tuesday night.

Earlier on Tuesday, Dave Winslow, along with six others, participated in a Pancake Eating Contest at IHOP.

Dave ate 11 pancakes in ten minutes.

But he wasn't the winner.

This year's winner was a Sioux City Probation Officer, Monte Colfack.

He ate 21 pancakes and received a trophy for his efforts.
