Home Show hopes to cure winter blues

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -- This weekend is a great time to get out of your winter hibernation, and look forward to all the home projects you can tackle in the warmer months.

You can take care of all those projects at the Sioux City Home Show. From windows to shingles, and hot tubs, the convention center is filled with nearly 250 booths.

After a long, tough winter, many homes will need a touch-up. The show's organizer says they have many economically-, and environmentally-friendly options.

"A lot of our booths are talking about energy efficiency because building green and being energy efficient in this economy is something we all should be made aware of," says Nancy Narciso of Siouxland Home Builders Association.

The Sioux City Home Show runs through Sunday at the Sioux City Convention Center.

The hours are: Thursday and Friday, 1-9 pm; Saturday, 11-9pm; Sunday, 12-5pm.

Admission is $5. Kids twelve and under are free. While you're there, make sure to stop by the KTIV booth, for your chance to win one of two free i-Pod Touches.
