On the morning of Friday, March 26, 2010 at approximately 9:00am the Storm Lake Police Department was dispatched to the office of the Pilot Tribune located at 527 Cayuga Street in reference to a subject who had made a threatening phone call.
Upon arrival of police they met with staff who reported that a subject identified as Roger Crawford, age 56 of Storm Lake had called the Pilot Tribune Office and was concerned that no one had responded to an ad he had placed in an attempt to sell a vehicle. Crawford reportedly became upset and allegedly told a staff person that he had killed before and he would come to their office and kill again.
Police located Crawford at his residence at 721C West 9th Street and arrested him without incident. Police charged Crawford with Terroristic Threats (class D felony). He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $5,000.00 cash bond.
Police report this is the third incident in the recent past that Crawford has been arrested for making death related threats at local businesses.
All defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty.
