SIOUX CENTER, Iowa (KTIV) -- Plans are in the works to build a brand new hospital in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Sioux Center Community Hospital is planning on moving off Highway 75 and rebuilding at County Route B40 and 13th Avenue in.
The hospital has already purchased forty acres of land and estimates the project will cost about $30 million.
Officials say they are building the new hospital as an outpatient facility and may sell the old building to local businesses.
"Although it may not meet our health care services into the future it certainly would be a good location for a number of different businesses that could use it," says hospital CEO Kayleen Lee.
Lee says they are still in the production phases of this project and will be looking to Sioux Center for design suggestions.
