SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -- Volunteers were honored Thursday at the Community Action Agency's meeting.
The Community Action Agency's Annual Recognition Meeting was held at Bev's on the River. Volunteers and the agency's staff were recognized at the luncheon. Agency staff say without the help from volunteers the agency couldn't help as many people as they do.
"We have people that have given us thousands of hours in service and that's very important to us. As a private non-profit funding is always tight and so the time and energy and effort that people give to us is really valuable," said Jean Logan, Executive Director of the Community Action Agency.
May is National Community Action Agency month.
The organization services people in the community who have low income by providing energy assistance, crisis intervention and so much more.
