Trailblazer program look for volunteers for the busy summer season.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - If you plan on being on bike trails this summer look out for the Siouxland Trailblazers.
They're out riding the trails to keep Siouxlanders safe.
They serve as the eyes and ears of the police department.
And although the program which started in July of 1998 has expanded to more than 45 volunteers the city is looking for more volunteers to help with events such as RAGBRAI.
Leon Koster, A Trailblazer, said,"If you like safety, biking and helping the community this is an excellent way to do it because you get to get out in the fresh air and ride the trails. We have a lot of trails that are great trails that are being repaired, some are being redone and to keep these trails safe."
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer trailblazer please contact the Sioux City Police department.
