Storm Lake, Iowa celebrates their 32nd annual "Star Spangled Spectacular"
STORM LAKE, IA (KTIV) - Storm Lake, Iowa is celebrating Fourth of July the right way this weekend with their 32nd annual "Star Spangled Spectacular."
Although all the festivities haven't started yet activities will be all around town Saturday and Sunday.
The big occasion may only be two days but a lot goes into planning and setting up event.
It has taken a lot of hard work and dedication from numerous volunteers to make it all happen.
Storm Lake's Star Spangled Spectular was named one of the top 25 events in Iowa and for that reason people keep coming back every year.
Chris Rasmussen, Commodore of the event, said, "A lot of people who are born and raised here come back for this event. Whether its the ride/run at 7:30 in the morning on July fourth, if its family relatives in northwest Iowa. You know our town will swell by three to four times over the course of the weekend."
The Star Spangled Spectacular is free yet there are many activities to look forward to.
Including the big parade at 1 p.m. on Sunday, the classic car show, a patriotic worship celebration.
