NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV) -- The state of Nebraska says federal disaster money should be coming to Siouxland soon.
Following last month's devastating floods in Northeast Nebraska, Governor Dave Heineman says he expects the submitted federal disaster declaration to be approved within the next two weeks.
Heineman told US92 news that FEMA has agreed to expedite the process to help get faster aid to Nebraskans.
"I think this is going to move along very very quickly our federal delegation is all very very supportive it just takes some time for them to review the request the documentation we've provided," says Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman.
Heineman says those who are seeking funding are encouraged to take pictures and keep good records of all of the damage and expenses.
He says the rules to receive the funding will be announced in the future.
