Wayne County opens Veterans Memorial to public

WAYNE, Neb (KTIV) -- One week after the Fourth of July, one Siouxland town has unveiled its memorial to Veterans and current members of the service.

Sunday, Wayne Nebraska opened this memorial to the public.

The monument contains the names of men and women with close ties to Wayne County that have served and continue to serve our country.

Dennis Otte, Chairperson Wayne County Veterans Committee said, "Without memorializing them and honoring them forever, I think it would be a disgrace if we don't support the troops in any way we can."

Otte also says another engraving ceremony is planned for the fall for any names that were left off.
