SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -- Thousands lined the streets of downtown Sioux City Wednesday night, to celebrate Sioux City's history on the Missouri River.
Organizers hope the festival focuses attention on the river, and the important role it's played in shaping the city.
Leading all the festivities is the country's most decorated, living war veteran: Sioux City native, Colonel George "Bud" Day. Day says he loves getting back to his hometown, especially for River-Cade.
"When you've got a great river like the Missouri and the town right on the river, what else can you do but have a good time on the river?" Day said.
The KTIV team had a fun time flinging Bings out at the parade.
The River-Cade queen will be crowned on Saturday.
