SIOUX CITY, IA (KTIV)-- A man has been accused of child endangerment resulting in death and neglect of a dependent person for a drowning that happened in Woodbury County last year.
Court documents allege on May 18th of 2009, Selvin Arevalo, left a thirteen month old and three year old child in a bathtub filled with water.
Prosecutors claim Arevalo realized the three year old kept turning on the water and that he scolded the child but did nothing about it.
Instead they say he left them unattended and went to eat dinner. When Arevalo returned the thirteen month old had drowned.
Department of Human Services had previously warned Arevalo about leaving the children unattended in the tub.
