SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -- A potential partnership could be taking place after the discovery of a zoning issue.
A hotel expansion is planed for Winna-Vegas casino, which is owned by the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska.
The proposed hotel is on tribal land, but it's parking lot will be under Woodbury County jurisdiction.
In order to keep any complications from arising, the county says they plan on discussing a possible jurisdiction partnership with the tribe.
The Board of Supervisors say this will help both parties especially during emergencies.
"The issue really gets down to fire and police, safety out there and we need to have agreements so we can legally go there if we have to," says County Supervisor Mark Monson.
The Board of Supervisors will meet August 31st to discuss the issue.
"Alert Iowa" is a statewide mass notification and emergency messaging system.
