SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -- United Way of Siouxland has a big goal for this year. Tuesday morning, the organization announced its campaign goal of $3.1 million.
Based on last year's efforts, that amount would allow United Way to serve more than 60,000 people. United Way officials say the community plays a big role in helping them reach their goal.
"Every gift makes a difference. Without the support of the community we would not be able to do all of the things that we do. So we really appreciated the community's support for the success of our campaign and the work the we do in the community," says Molly Hewitt of United Way of Siouxland.
Besides fundraising goals, the United Way of Siouxland has community goals like reducing violence and bullying in schools, and increasing financial stability for families.
