Since fifth grade, I wanted to be a meteorologist. Unlike some in my field, however, my fascination with weather was not triggered by one particular event.
Rather, I simply remember watching the weather on TV in Omaha, NE and quickly became hooked.
In fact, I used to write out the latest forecast on a personal chalkboard at home and pretend I was giving a forecast to a TV audience.
Now that I look back at the entire ordeal, I wonder what my parents must have thought.
Of course, they probably figured that it was just a phase. Fortunately for them, however, their inkling was wrong and they could receive a personalized forecast everyday without even watching the news!
My passion for weather took me all the way from my home in the eastern part of Council Bluffs to Creighton University in Omaha, NE, about 20 minutes away.
I graduated in May 2010 with a B. S. in Atmospheric Sciences and a minor in Mathematics.
In my free time, I enjoy playing piano, volleyball, tennis, basketball, and doing pretty much anything outside.
Although I grew up in the Hawkeye state, I am a Husker football fan at heart. As for other collegiate sports, I am pretty much required to be a Blue Jays fan since I am now a Creighton University Alum.
You can watch my forecasts on KTIV NewsChannel 4 during the weekends. I also do some reporting during the week.
Feel free to say hello if you see me out and about. If you ask me about the weather, I might just know the answer.
