SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -- The man charged in the death of his infant daughter received his sentence Thursday.
Selvin Arevalo plead guilty, and accepted a plea bargain in Woodbury County Court.
He's charged with of "neglect of a dependent person," and will serve up to 10 years behind bars and pay $150,000 in restitution.
In May of 2009, Arevalo says he left his 13-month-old daughter, Lindsey, in the bathtub, inside his Sioux City home while he tended to food on the stove. When he came back from the kitchen, she had drowned.
The charge of "child endangerment resulting in death" was dropped in exchange for the guilty plea.
