Local church holds annual rummage sale

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -- A Sioux City church is doing their part -- to help local women and children -- by putting on a large rummage sale.

The lower level of the First Congregational United Church of Christ is filled with fall and winter clothing ranging in ages from toddler to middle school age.

There are also toys... strollers and maternity wear.

The giving attitude is a reflection of the church's mission.

"This is an important thing for us as Christians. It's important for us to help others. We've established partnerships with agencies, like CSADV and Women Aware and so we enjoy being able to take this one opportunity to generate a lot of funds," said the church's program coordinator, Alaire Willits.

All of the proceeds are given to local agencies, such as CSADV and women shelters throughout Sioux City.

The event runs until seven tonight... and tomorrow from nine until noon.
