JOHNSTON, Iowa (AP) - Democratic Gov. Chet Culver and Republican former Gov. Terry Branstad will hold their final debate, less than two weeks before Election Day.
Culver and Branstad will meet for their third debate at noon Thursday at Iowa Public Television's studio in Johnston. The debate is sponsored by IPTV and The Des Moines Register, and it will be streamed live on those organizations' websites. It will be rebroadcast Thursday night on IPTV.
The debate is 1 of the final high point in a race that has drawn roughly $16 million in campaign contributions. Polls have indicated Branstad, who served 16 years as governor, is leading Culver, but the first-term Democrat claims he's closing the gap and will win Nov. 2.
