SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -- Three Woodbury County projects are getting a boost from Argosy Casino gambling profits. One of them is a new pavilion at Sertoma Park in Sioux City.
The concrete is already poured for the structure, but a nearly $150,000 grant from Missouri River Historical Development is helping the project come even closer to completion. All in all, it will cost around $200,000.
"This was going to be a long range goal, so when we heard about the grant, we said, 'Let's try and at least get some help,'" said Sioux City Noon Sertoma Club president Patty Bortscheller.
Lawton-Bronson Junior/Senior High School will develop interactive classrooms with money from MRHD, and the city of Moville plans to make improvements to baseball and softball fields. Both of those projects will receive about $50,000.
