Sixty-nine years later, people across this country, and right here in Siouxland, honor those who died in the attack on Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941.
In Morningside, Tuesday morning, members of the American Legion honored those who fell that fateful day and those who went on to fight during the second world war.
In Sioux City's Peters Park, veterans raised the United States flag.
The surprise Japanese attack killed over 2,300.
