Gov. Daugaard orders non Dunes residents to stay out of area after 4:00 p.m.

DAKOTA DUNES, SD (KTIV) -

Beth Hermanson, of Unified Command, says only residents with a valid ID, which proves they live in Dakota Dunes, will be allowed into the Dunes after 4:00pm, Tuesday.

The checkpoint is at the four-way stop of Sioux Point Rd. and Dakota Dunes Blvd. It is being enforced by the Union County Sheriff's Dept. and the SD Highway Patrol.

Hermanson says a Dakota Dunes resident can come to the checkpoint and meet folks. But, you all must drive into the Dunes in the same vehicle. And, the vehicle you leave behind must be parked off the road, and out of the way.

This is all by order of Governor Dennis Daugaard.
