In heat and sun sandbagging was tough work for Siouxlanders. But in the last few days, Tyson Foods was there to help.
Making stops in Sioux City, South Sioux, and North Sioux, some from the company were cooking up a storm. Since last Thursday, they've been providing free brats, hamburgers and more.
Cooks said the flames from the stove may have added to the heat, but helping was much more important.
"We just want to help the people. We know it's a terrible disaster and we want to do everything we can to help," said Ron Hott with Tyson.
Tuesday the group was at the Dakota Valley High School cooking for the Guard. They said on Sunday they served over 1,000 at the Tyson Events Center.
If you've driven down Virginia Street in downtown Sioux City, you may have seen new apartment buildings.
