NEAR CHEROKEE, Iowa (KTIV) -
A Le Mars, Iowa man is dead after a car accident in Cherokee County.
Sheriff's officials say 69-year-old Merle Loftis was in a pickup, turning south on county road L-51 when a straight truck collided with his vehicle.
The truck's driver, 24-year old Andrew Millikan of Meriden, Iowa, was heading west on county road C-38.
Officials say Loftis died from his injuries.
Millikan was taken to the Cherokee Regional Medical Center.
There's no word on his condition.
The accident happened about 10 o'clock Tuesday morning, a few miles west of Cherokee.
