SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

The Army Corps of Engineers says the Missouri River basin has experienced three straight months of record runoff above Sioux City.

The Corps say June was the highest single runoff month on record with 13.8 million acre feet.

May runoff was the third highest at 10.5.

And July was the 5th highest at 10 million acre feet; the wettest July on record.

"In addition, the three-month runoff volume was greater than the total annual runoff in 102 of the 113 years," said Jody Farhat.

Releases from Gavins Point Dam were at 150,000 cubic feet per second, Friday.

Beginning in the middle of the month, releases will be reduced to 90,000 cfs near the end of the month.
