Big blue bus touts conservative values across Iowa this week
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Because there is such a political focus on Iowa this week, many groups are also trying to get their message out.
And that includes a big blue bus that's all about social conservative values.
The "Values Voters Bus Tour" stopped in Sioux City Thursday.
It's traveling the state with conservative speakers and even some GOP presidential candidates.
They're all voicing concern about gay marriage, abortion and religious rights.
The tour stops in 22 Iowa cities and wraps up in Ames for the Straw Poll on Saturday.
"We realize the importance of the Iowa Caucuses, the Iowa straw poll. So we would like to have a impact a dialogue with our supporters here in your state," said one of the event's organizers, Connie Mackey with the Family Research Council in Washington D.C.
The trip was made possible by three social conservative groups.
Organizers say GOP presidential candidates Tim Pawlenty, Rick Santorum and Michele Bachmann will be taking part in the tour.
