Spirit Lake, IA man dies after falling from wind turbine

A Spirit Lake Iowa man has died after falling nearly 60 feet from a wind turbine he was climbing in Osceola County.

Authorities say 33-year-old Christopher Paulette of Spirit Lake, was taken to a local hospital after the incident where he later died.

The Osceola County Sheriff's department were called to the scene at a Nextera windmill site south of 110th Street and Van Buren Avenue near Ocheyedan around 11:30 Monday morning.

The incident remains under investigation.
