Two remain hospitalized following fatal accident in Clay County, IA


Two people remain hospitalized following a fatal accident in Clay County Iowa Saturday afternoon.

Authorities there say around 61-year-old Joseph Bonstetter of West Bend, was driving east on county road B-24 when he hit the passenger side of a car driven by 50-year-old Denise Boeve of Hartley, Iowa.

Authorities say Bonstetter failed to obey a stop sign at the intersection of B-24 and M-50.

Boeve and another passenger, 27-year-old Sara Krikke of Sibley, are in fair condition at Sioux City's Mercy Medical Center.

A third passenger, 50-year-old Mary Jo Huls was taken to a Spencer hospital where she was treated and released.

The accident remains under investigation.
