Quinterns are definitely not "gophers"

Posted: Updated:

"Hey intern, get me some coffee." That's probably not what you're looking for in an internship, is it? Neither are we. At Quincy, you're more likely to hear: "Hey, let's brainstorm some questions before you interview the mayor."

At Quincy, our goals are your goals. We want you to get hands-on learning in our newsrooms so you're ready to get a job when your internship is over. In fact, you could end up being first in line for a job with Quincy.

Simply put, we want to grow our own. We'd love nothing more to help you grow as an intern and then put you to work as an employee in one of our 13 newsrooms.

What makes an internship with Quincy different from all the rest? We'll put you right into the daily mix to use the same modern technology our employees use. We'll pay you to be an intern because we expect you to work. Most importantly, you'll work closely with your assigned mentor and receive real-time feedback.

You'll attend editorial meetings and have a voice. You'll pitch your ideas and we'll help you develop them. You can shoot, write and edit your own news stories. We may even put you live on the air. You'll learn how to use our high-tech "MJ Kits" from anywhere in the field to generate content for our interactive platforms. You can also put your creative mind to use producing daily newscasts.

We'll work with you on setting goals and give you the support necessary to achieve them. Our experienced news managers will even help you put together a professional demo reel.

So, put down the coffee pot and pick up the skills and experience you need for success.

If you're ready to get to work, apply now for an internship with Quincy. The opportunities are endless.
