Liberty is one of the rights Americans are guaranteed in the Declaration of Independence. Congressman Ron Paul says liberty will lead the country to prosperity, again.
The Republican presidential candidate spoke to a packed room of about 100 supporters, in Sioux City, Tuesday afternoon. He told them that liberty-- not the federal government, leads to a free society, and free markets. Rep. Ron Paul, (R) Presidential Candidate says, "People in this country have been conditioned to believe that government is supposed to take care of us. Anytime there's a problem, instead of saying 'the government created the problem, get government out of the way', they think the free enterprise system created the problem, and the government is gonna come in a protect us. And, it's the other way around."
One way to boost the economy? Paul says America should end its involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan, and bring those troops home. If elected, Paul says it would only be a few weeks before he would pull troops out of those war-torn countries. He says that would save billions of dollars... and let American troops spend their money here at home. Rep. Ron Paul, (R) Presidential Candidate says, "If you're looking for something immediate, all of a sudden all of those salaries would be spent here at home. Maybe some of them would want to buy a house. That would be great!"
Following his second place finish in the Iowa Straw Poll, last month, Paul sits fourth in the latest Rasmussen Reports poll behind Rick Perry, and Mitt Romney and Michele Bachmann.
