A plaque in Douangdara's honor was presented.. and will be put up at the Siouxland Freedom Park.
A Siouxland military unit could cease to exist a year from now. Officials with the South Dakota National guard say it's because of budget cuts recruiting has stopped. And... according to the plan, 110 positions will likely be lost in Yankton's 147th Field Artillery.... meaning the Charlie Battery won't be around anymore. Through turnover, retirements, and transfers, army officials suspect many will be able to stay. There is the possibility that some would have to move other units.
