SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Vision Iowa Board Members got a first hand look at a Sioux City project they helped fund.
In 2009, Vision Iowa awarded a two-million grant to the Sioux City Public Museum so they could build on their new site in downtown Sioux City.
The Vision Iowa board has also awarded money to projects in Sioux City in the past, like the Orpheum Theater and the Tyson Events Center.
Wednesday, they held their monthly board meeting at the museum.
"Vision Iowa has been very important to the entire state. It has funded many, many projects that have been an asset to the community and the state as a whole. And it's very important to tourism there are so many fine projects and places in the state of Iowa that it has been a very vital program," said Cathy Reece, Vision Iowa Board Chair.
Vision Iowa awarded grants to three projects today in Central and Eastern Iowa.
