CUSHING, Iowa (KTIV) -
No one was hurt after an early morning fire destroyed a Cushing, IA home.
Assistant Fire Chief Jerry Wittrock said investigators believe electrical wiring on the porch started the fire and then spread to the rest of the home. Crews responded to Caroline and Scott Slater's home at 202 3rd Street just before 3:00 a.m. Monday morning.
Wittrock says an older daughter in the home woke up to see flames outside her room. Everyone in the home, managed to get out safely.
Crews from three other communities helped battle the fire. Construction crews were on scene tearing down the home Monday afternoon. The Siouxland Red Cross has offered its services to assist the family.
