A field of tulips will be on display during all seasons in Orange City, Iowa.
Friday, community members cut the ribbon on a new mural in downtown Orange City on the north wall of Dove Christian Book Store.
The mural is the work of local artist, Mark Alsum.
Alsum used 15-gallons of paint and 30 different colors and blends to complete it.
"The best part of this experience was being able to work outside in public and interact with the public while I worked on it, because usually when you make a painting, you do it in the privacy of your studio or in your home, so it was cool to interact with the public while making a public work, " said Mark Alsum, Artist.
Community members are very excited to have a new mural in downtown Orange City.
"It's exciting to see things like this going on in Orange City. It adds a lot of color. It's seen right across from the park area and otherwise we would have a big white wall. It's really kind of a neat thing," said Mick Snieder, Orange City Betterment Board Chair.
The mural is 21 feet by 100 feet tall across from Windmill Park.
