WEST UNION (KWWL) -
An Iowa State Patrol trooper is fighting against having cameras in the courtroom for his February trial.
37-year-old Mikel Yauk has pleaded not guilty to burglary and possessing a burglary tool.
Prosecutors say he got into the home of an acquaintance last month, performed a sex act on her, and took her cell phone.
Media outlets have made a standard request to bring cameras into the courtroom to report on the trial.
Yauk's attorney says the extra coverage would only increase the likelihood Yauk couldn't get a fair trial in Fayette county.
A hearing on this matter is scheduled for Nov. 28.
