POCAHONTAS, Iowa (KTIV) -
Authorities continue to investigate a house fire that claimed the life of a rural Pocahontas, Iowa woman late last week.
77-year-old Teresa Sefcik died after being pulled from her burning home and taken to a Fort Dodge hospital on Friday.
The Pocahontas County Sheriff's office says the home was completely engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived and Sefcik was trapped inside.
The fire is believed to have been caused by a grass fire that had been started earlier by the home owner, that he though he had put out.
The home was a complete loss.
