Norfolk celebrates women's contributions to agribusiness

The big draw in Norfolk, Nebraska Friday night is discussing the contribution of women in agriculture.

It's the third Ag-Ceptional Women's Conference, with about 350 women taking part.

They were treated to more than 20 educational sessions to celebrate women's contributions to agribusiness and discuss various challenges in today's market.

The conference also featured a surprise guest speaker, Nebraska First Lady Sally Ganem, who says she sees women playing a bigger role in agribusiness now than ever before.

Sally Ganem, Nebraska First Lady said, "I believe they are speaking up and they know what's right to do. They understand it thoroughly and they're making themselves heard."

Ganem says she first developed an appreciation for women in agriculture from visiting her aunt and uncle's farm in Central Nebraska while growing up.
