Akron man charged in alleged baseball bat attack

AKRON, Iowa (KTIV) -

An Akron, Iowa man faces a felony charge of Willful Injury after allegedly assaulting a man with a baseball bat. 33-year-old Jeremy Martinac was arrested by Plymouth County Sheriff's deputies last Wednesday night after they received a call from his mother that he was out of control and had attacked her husband at a residence near Akron.

An ambulance was called for the victim. His name and condition were not released.

Martinac was booked into the Plymouth County Jail on $10,000 cash bond. Sheriff's officials were assisted by the Akron Police Department and the Iowa State Patrol. The investigation continues.
