A canine cop and longtime partner of a Plymouth County Sheriff's Deputy has passed away. Officials say nine-year-old "SABOT" died at the home of his handler, Deputy Scott Dorhout on Saturday. "SABOT" was received by the sheriff's office in 2002 and was certified as both a drug and patrol dog.
"SABOT" was certified every year as a dual purpose dog until his retirement in April of last year. During his career he was involved in apprehending criminals, detecting narcotics, searching for lost or missing people, searching buildings and residences and participating in community service programs.
