Iowa Governor Terry Branstad says hundreds of people that responded to a survey on the state's education system agree that it needs an overhaul.
Branstad says of the 85 percent that responded says major changes are needed as student performance has stayed constant over the past decade.
Branstad these results will motivate him to propose changes to lawmakers when they convene in Des Moines on January ninth.
As part of Branstad's proposal, he's looking at tougher standards for teacher education and changes to student evaluations.
