SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

It's chilly now, but the weather will get warmer and Sioux City's providing a new incentive to ride your bike in the city.

Scheels, SIMPCO, and the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce have teamed up to place more bike racks around the community like at the Sioux City Museum.

Eventually, more bike racks will be placed near Bev's on the River, the Anderson Dance Pavilion, South Sioux City, and the Morningside Library, each with a unique style.

It's all in an effort to increase healthy lifestyle in the area.

"These unique ideas kind of gives a unique twist to it, and, at the same time, it will also kind of build some momentum for bicycle activities. That way, people will say, 'that's a neat bike rack. Maybe I should go for a bike ride,'" said Eric Sanders, Transportation Planner.

The new bike racks are just the start to what planners say will include many more neat ideas in the future.
