Two Siouxland teens killed in highway collision

NEAR SILVER CREEK, Neb. (KTIV) -

Two Madison, Nebraska teens have died following a two vehicle crash on an icy stretch of U.S. Highway 30 near Silver Creek Thursday afternoon. According to the Grand Island Office of the Nebraska State Patrol, 18-year-old David Romero and 18-year-old Juan Manuel, were passengers in a vehicle that was eastbound when the driver lost control on the icy road. The car slid sideways and was hit broadside by an oncoming pickup truck. Romero and Manuel were taken to the hospital in Columbus where they were pronounced dead.

The driver of the car, 17-year-old Trae Deeder of Madison was taken to the hospital with a head laceration. A third passenger, 18-year-old Juan Raymaga, was treated and released from the hospital. The driver of the pickup was also treated and released.
