South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley opposes legislation that would allow for automated phone calls to cell phones.
Jackley joins several other attorneys general in this request to congress.
Right now, federal law allows automated calls to be place for those who have given consent or in the event of an emergency.
The proposed legislation would allow businesses to make calls to any consumer that provided their number.
