Approval of a grant to a group that promotes farms is raising some eyebrows among Nebraska lawmakers.
Attorney General Jon Bruning awarded the $100,000 grant to "We Support Agriculture."
The coalition also fights animal welfare groups.
Bruning praised the group for its efforts in protecting Nebraska against "extremist groups like the Humane Society of the United States."
A spokesperson says despite having an office in Omaha, they won't pursue ballot initiatives and don't plan to propose farm or animal related legislation this year.
