The Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools say supporters have pledged enough money for the first phase of construction of a new Heelan High School.
But, before earth is turned the school system needs another million dollars in hand.
The first phase of work will cost $15-million, and includes demolition of the old building, the cost of land for the new school, and construction of the "fine arts wing"... including an auditorium, which the school doesn't have.
The latest fundraising numbers show the "Pride" campaign has all $15-million pledged for the project. But, the campaign still needs another $1.2-million in cash in hand before work can begin.
It's diocesan policy that a project can't begin before 100% of the money is pledged... and half of the money is in hand.
